5 Winter Must-Do’s:
🍺 Hop Lot Brewing Co.: Visit Hop Lot and experience dining in their igloo’s. Hop Lot is a local brewery just off M-22 before you arrive in Suttons Bay. Their igloo’s allow you to experience good food in a super unique setting. Local tips: You need to reserve these igloos in advance and can book them up to 14 days ahead of time. The reservation is for 90 minutes with a 10 minute grace period if you’re running late. They do have warmers, but you’re encouraged to still dress for winter.
🏂 Ski/Snowboard Hickory Hills or Mt. Holiday: Some of the best downhill skiing in the Lower Peninsula is within an hour drive of Traverse City, but theses two hills available right in town!
🚴 Rent a Fat Tire Bike and do the Tart Trail. Can you really ride a bike in the snow? The Fat Tire bike has tires that are between 4” and 5” wide. They do really well in more difficult terrain - like snow! There are several bike shops in the area such as Grand Traverse Bike Tours. You can rent bikes for the day, multiple days, or a whole week. You can ride the Tart Trail all the way to Suttons Bay. The TC area also hosts many mountain biking opportunities.
❄️ Snow Tubing at Timberlee Hills. Open weekends until early March, Timberlee offers fun for all ages. You are encouraged to buy tickets in advance which are good for one hour of tubing.
♨ Soak in a hot tub at one of our eight area vacation rentals! Winter takes hot tubs to the next level - a therapeutic soak as the snow falls. We have only high end tubs - either Jacuzzi or Hot Springs. Each hot tub gets cleaned and tested in between guests so that you have the best experience possible.
